An Open Letter to My Big Brother

Dear Big Brother,

I love you and I'm proud you are my brother. I want to thank you for being my life long playmate. You've held my hand since day one. When mommy scolds me, you'd defend me and blame yourself to get me out of trouble. You've taken up for me when I was wrong and never questioned me over anything because you know I wouldn't do. I want you to know that I will always be your number one fan.

There is nothing I could give you to show you how much you mean to me. you’re my forever best friend, whether you want to be or not. When i was little, i would climb into your bed when I had a nightmare. Your hands would pat my head telling that you are there with me.

Fights. We've a good share of them, They end in the both of us calling each other stupid. I would never want to hurt your feelings and I never want you to be unhappy with me.

Every time I get a good grade, a new job or even just something,  I want you to be the first person to know about it. Your love and support is far different than the love from parents. I'm getting older everyday and to you I will always be your baby sister.

I know that life is hard for you right now. You are growing and having new experiences that aren’t easy. I am so proud of the man you are, the man you are becoming, and the man you will be. You will make huge mistakes. These mistake will lead to pathways you didn’t even know existed. Learn from your mistakes, forgive for making them and have a faith in yourself.

When you feel like giving up, remember that i support you. When you feel everyone hates you, remember that I love you. When you feel like you are not good enough, remember that you are my world.

Most importantly, I need you to know that no matter how far away life takes us, I am always with you.

To the ones who feel a little broken inside. You've been through so much, I know. You've been lied to, and you've been hurt. If you wish to pursue anything in your life, never give up on it. You will undoubtedly encounter problems today or tomorrow, do you truly believe you can accomplish this? look at yourself first, stop wasting your time, you will gain nothing from this, and so on. Rather than listening to those who distract you, show them what you are worthy of by exceeding your own expectations. There is nothing in this world that you do not deserve to reach, all you need is confidence and the proper path, both of which can be developed within yourself.
